Journal of Entomological Society of Iran. The journal abbreviated title is “J.Entomol.Soc.Iran” and its acronym is JESI.

 

 Ownership and Management

Journal of Entomological Society of Iran (JESI) is an official quarterly publication of the Entomological Society of Iran (ESI).

The Entomological Society of Iran was established in 1969 to develop and advance the science of entomology in Iran. This society is one of the oldest non-governmental organizations and one of the largest specialized societies in Iran and the region. It currently has 1,500 members in 4 groups: regular members (experts), students, honorary members, and legal members (institutions, organizations, and companies). The board of directors members, elected by the general assembly, constitute the society's executive board. The society's primary mission is to establish connections between entomologists and scientists in Iran, the region, and the world for cooperation in educational and research fields.

The Entomological Society of Iran organizes and holds numerous national and international conferences for entomologists in institutions and universities of the country. Through this, it provides appropriate opportunities for members, scientists, and interested organizations to exchange views and information on the latest scientific findings and advances in various branches of pure and applied entomology, including biological control, insect pathology ecology, physiology, toxicology, pathology, insect classification and medical and veterinary entomology.

The Entomological Society of Iran publishes two international journals:

Journal of Entomological Society of Iran and Journal of Insect Biodiversity and Systematics.

The JESI has a diverse editorial board, including recognized experts in the subject areas. The Entomological Society of Iran (ESI), in collaboration with the chief editor, periodically reviews the editorial board and updates it to maintain the journal's integrity and ensure appropriateness and relevance.

Archiving Policy

The JESI’s contents are freely available through its permanent website. The papers are deposited in international (Portico and Zenodo ) and national [(Scientific Information Database (SID), Magiran, Google Scholar, and ISC) repositories. All authors can archive all versions of their papers in personal or university/ institute repositories. The National Library and Archives of Iran, the central libraries of the University of Tehran, Tarbiat Modares University, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, and the Iranian Research Institute of Plant Protection, have printed copies of the JESI.

 

Revenue Source

The JESI is financially supported by the ESI. This is a unique source of support. The journal is disinclined to carry any advertisements on the website or through its publications.
